MEDICALLY SUPERVISED WEIGHT LOSS
Nine months of medical supervision, and someone alongside you for all of it

THE REAL PROBLEM
Losing weight was never the problem. Keeping it off was.
This programme works on all four, under continuous medical supervision, for long enough to matter. Nine months is what the protocol needs to get you through initiation, optimisation, and a planned handover into maintenance, which is the phase where most attempts quietly fail.
Find out whether this is right for you before you commit to anything.

You have access to a clinical support channel for questions or concerns between scheduled consultations. Non-urgent queries are answered within 24 hours on business days. Urgent concerns follow the escalation route explained to you at enrolment — and your Wellness Navigator is in contact throughout, which is the subject of the next section.
THE DIFFERENCE
The person who stays with you
People rarely stop this programme in a consultation. They stop in the gaps between them. Your Wellness Navigator owns those gaps.
From the day you enquire, one named person is yours for the full nine months. No extra charge. It is part of the programme.
Your Wellness Navigator owns those gaps.

THE LONG VIEW
What happens when the nine months end
At your month 9 review, the doctor conducts a full review of your outcomes and builds a transition plan with you. It covers whether your therapy continues, reduces or stops; your long-term dietary and lifestyle strategy; what ongoing monitoring you need; and how any remaining metabolic risk is managed.
ROUTE 01
A structured maintenance protocol
ROUTE 02
Ongoing therapy at a maintenance dose
ROUTE 03
Transition to lifestyle-only management
Sometimes it does. We would far rather see you early than late, because early re-intervention is what prevents a full return to where you started. You can re-enter the programme at whichever phase is clinically appropriate — and before you finish, your Wellness Navigator agrees with you what the early warning signs look like, so that you recognise them yourself.
Frequently asked questions
01 Suitability and safety
How do I know whether I am suitable?
You will know after your clinical consultation. Our doctor reviews your medical history, your current medications, a comprehensive blood panel and an EVOLT 360 medical-grade body composition scan before making that decision. It is not a decision that can be made from a website, a questionnaire or a phone call — and no one else at the centre can make it.
If the answer is no, you will be told why, and you will be offered the parts of the programme that are appropriate for you instead.
Is there anyone this programme is not safe for?
Yes. This programme is not appropriate for you if any of the following apply:
- a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma, or multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2
- a current or planned pregnancy, or you are breastfeeding
- a history of pancreatitis
- severe gastrointestinal disease, including gastroparesis
- type 1 diabetes
- active or inadequately treated eating disorders
- severe kidney or liver impairment
Some of these are absolute, and some are a matter of timing or of getting another condition managed first. Either way, this is established at your clinical consultation before anything is prescribed — and if there is any uncertainty, our doctor will say so rather than proceed.
Do I need a referral from my own doctor?
No. You can start with a Wellness Navigator consultation directly. If you have a regular GP, we would encourage you to tell them you are starting the programme, and with your consent we are happy to keep them informed.
What is actually going wrong with my metabolism?
Usually four things at once, which is why single-issue approaches tend to fail.
Hormonally, insulin resistance means your cells stop responding properly to insulin, so your body produces more of it — and elevated insulin actively promotes fat storage while making stored fat harder to release. At the same time leptin resistance blunts the signal that tells your brain you have eaten enough, and raised cortisol from chronic stress or poor sleep drives both appetite and central fat storage.
At a cellular level, mitochondrial function declines — the machinery that converts food into usable energy becomes less efficient, which is why fatigue and weight gain so often arrive together.
Then there is chronic low-grade inflammation, which both results from excess visceral fat and worsens insulin resistance, creating a loop that sustains itself.
And behaviourally, years of restriction and regain leave a genuinely difficult relationship with food, alongside habits formed under stress that no amount of information alone will shift.
None of this is a character flaw, and none of it resolves through willpower. It is a set of interacting physiological problems, and it is why this programme addresses medication, nutrition, movement and behaviour at the same time rather than one after the other.
02 The medication and the infusions
What does the medication actually involve?
A GLP-1 receptor agonist administered as a once-weekly injection under the skin, which you give yourself at home after being shown how. The specific medicine, and the dose, are prescribed by our doctor and adjusted over the nine months according to how you respond and how well you tolerate it.
What side effects should I expect?
Most commonly nausea, constipation, fatigue and reactions at the injection site, together with a reduced appetite that can make it difficult to eat enough protein. These are usually most noticeable at the start and around each dose change.
Every one of them has a management strategy built into the programme, and if your tolerance suggests a dose increase should wait, it waits.
What if I cannot tolerate the medication?
That is a clinical conversation, not the end of the road. Your doctor may hold your current dose, adjust the timing, add supportive management, or consider a different medicine altogether. This is exactly the kind of thing to raise with your Wellness Navigator the day it happens rather than saving it for your next review.
Why is the intravenous therapy compulsory?
Because eating substantially less means taking in substantially fewer micronutrients at precisely the point your body needs them most. The weekly infusion exists to close that gap. It:
- replenishes the vitamins and minerals your reduced intake no longer covers
- supports cellular energy metabolism, which is where much of the fatigue on this kind of therapy comes from
- reduces the nausea and fatigue that commonly accompany GLP-1 therapy, which in turn makes the therapy easier to stay on
- helps preserve lean muscle while you lose fat — the single most important determinant of whether your results hold afterwards
- maintains hydration and electrolyte balance when appetite and fluid intake both drop
It is a clinical component of the protocol, not an optional extra, and it is included in the programme cost.
Can I do the programme without the infusions?
No. The infusion protocol is a compulsory element of this programme. If you are looking for prescription-only weight management without the supporting protocol, this is not the right programme for you, and your Wellness Navigator will tell you so plainly.
Are there additional therapies I might need?
Possibly, depending on what your bloods and your clinical picture show. Where they are clinically indicated, our doctor may recommend:
- hormone therapy, where a hormonal imbalance is identified as a contributing factor
- high-dose vitamin C
- NAD+ therapy
- glutathione
- a Myers Cocktail infusion
These are clinical decisions, made by our doctor on the basis of your results — never offered as an upsell. They sit outside the standard programme inclusions and are priced separately, and you will be told what is recommended, why, and what it costs before anything is administered.
03 The nine months
How much time does the programme take each week?
One weekly injection, which you give yourself and which takes moments, and one visit to the centre for your infusion. Beyond that, five clinical consultations across the nine months and contact with your Wellness Navigator at a frequency that steps down as the programme progresses.
What happens at each of the five reviews?
Each review is a full clinical checkpoint, not a weigh-in.
What do the dietitian and physiotherapist actually do?
They do the work that determines whether the results hold. The medication reduces your appetite; these two decide what happens in the space it opens up.
Your dietitian begins with a full preliminary nutritional assessment at baseline — your current intake, eating patterns, medical and dietary history, and the practical realities of how you actually eat. From that she builds a personalised nutrition plan centred on adequate protein, micronutrient sufficiency and lean muscle preservation while you are in a calorie deficit. Through the programme she works on the habits around eating: portion structure, meal timing, hydration, eating out, travel, and the specific situations where previous attempts came undone. She also manages the appetite and gastrointestinal changes that come with therapy — nausea, early satiety, food aversion and reduced intake — and reassesses at each review, adjusting the plan to your body composition results rather than to the scale alone. At month 9 she builds your long-term eating strategy with you.
Your physiotherapist begins with a preliminary physical assessment — posture, mobility, joint function, movement quality and any existing injury or pain. From that comes a movement prescription matched to your current capacity, with exercises broken down and taught rather than handed over on a sheet. The emphasis is progressive resistance work to protect lean muscle mass through the weight-loss phase, alongside management of the musculoskeletal issues that most often limit exercise — knees, hips, lower back and shoulders. Load and complexity increase at each review as your capacity changes, and the programme ends with a sustainable movement plan built to fit your life rather than a gym schedule.
Both practitioners see you from baseline to month 9, and both report into the same clinical picture your doctor and your Wellness Navigator are working from.
What happens to my results when the programme ends?
That is planned from your month 9 review, and there are three routes:
- a structured maintenance protocol at reduced frequency and cost
- ongoing therapy at a maintenance dose with periodic clinical review
- a transition to lifestyle-only management with an annual metabolic review
Your doctor decides which is appropriate with you, based on your results, your metabolic markers and how stable your habits have become. Nobody is discharged without one of the three in place.
What if I regain the weight afterwards?
Come back early rather than late. You can re-enter the programme at whichever phase is clinically appropriate, and early re-intervention is what stops a partial regain becoming a full one. Before you finish, your navigator agrees with you what the early warning signs look like.
04 Privacy and your navigator
Is what I tell the Wellness Navigator confidential?
Yes. Your information is health information under the Protection of Personal Information Act. It is stored on the centre’s systems, access is limited to the practitioners you have specifically consented to, and you can ask to see it. You can also withhold consent for any individual practitioner, and you can withdraw consent to proactive contact at any time.
Can my employer or medical scheme find out?
Not from us. Where a programme is sponsored by an employer, the employer receives anonymised, aggregated information about programme use only. Nothing you disclose individually goes back to them with your name attached.
Is my Wellness Navigator a therapist?
No, and the distinction matters. Your Wellness Navigator is a Specialist Wellness Counsellor registered with the Association for Supportive Counsellors and Holistic Practitioners (ASCHP). They provide supportive counselling on motivation, habit, stress and your relationship with food, at a non-clinical level.
Specifically, they do not:
- diagnose any condition, physical or psychological
- treat mental health conditions
- interpret your blood results or body composition scans
- prescribe, adjust or advise on your medication or dose
- make decisions about your clinical protocol
Where you need psychological input, they bring in our clinical psychologist. Where you need a clinical answer, they bring in our doctor. Knowing the edge of their scope — and handing over at it — is part of the role, not a limitation of it.
